1) Fair-weather friend èرفيق نيمه راه Someone who is your friend only when things are going well for you. e.g.: I really thought she would be have to help me, but she is just a fair-weather friend. 2) Pen-friend èدوست مکاتبه ای A person that you make friends with/by writing letters, often somebody you have never met. e.g.: In your first letter to a pen-friend you will want to give a lively picture of yourself, the main points about yourself and your life which can be elaborated on. 3) False-friend è دوست کاذب، نارفيق a) A person who seems to be your friend but who is not loyal and cannot be trusted. e.g.: I can not rely on Mina as a reliable friend because she is a false-friend. b) A word in a foreign language that looks similar to a word in your own language, but has a different meaning. e.g.: The English word ‘sensible’ and the French word ‘sensible’ are false-friends. 4) Bosom friend è دوست صميمی، همدم A friend that you know very well and like very much indeed. e.g.: I really like Marry. She is my bosom friend. 5) School friend èدوست دوران مدرسه A friend who attends or attended the same school as you. e.g.: She met up with some of her old school friends. 6) Girlfriend èدوست دختر A girl that a boy is having a romantic relationship with. e.g.: He had lunch with his girlfriend. 7) Friend in /at court èدوست منتفذ One who has ability and disposition to help another by his influence in high quarter. e.g.: When the Lord was to bring his people into Egypt He provided so as they should have a friend at court before they come. 8) Long-term friend è دوست قديمی Somebody who’s your friend for a long time. e.g.: Sarah has been my friend since I was 10. She’s my long-term friend. 9) Make friends againè آشتی کردن e.g.: I had broken my friend relationship for at least 5 years, but I decided to make friend again with her. 10) Have friends in high places è پارتی داشتن To know important people who can help you. e.g.: ‘ how did he get promoted so quickly?’ ‘Oh, he had friends in high places’. 11) A friend in need, is a friend indeed è دوست آن باشد که گيرد دست دوست در پريشان حالی و درماندگی A friend who gives you help in the time of trouble is a true friend. e.g.: I’ll always be grateful to Karin for lending me the money; a friend in need is a friend indeed. 12) Make new friends but keep old, they are silver those are goldè چون دوستان نوگيری ، پشت به دوستان کهن مکن.
